World Congress on Global Optimization
WCGO 2015, Gainesville, Florida - USA, Feb 22-25, 2015

1. Christodoulos A. Floudas of the University of Texas A&M, Ignacio E. Grossmann of Carnegie Mellon University, and Nikolaos Sahinidis from Carnegie Mellon University have been awarded the Constantin Carathéodory Prize of the International Society of Global Optimization in recognition of their lifetime contributions to global optimization, and in particular the development of global optimization software.

2. As we discussed in our last meeting, C. Floudas is the new president of the society -starting March 1, 2015.

3. The next 2017 World Congress on Global Optimization will take place in Texas and will be organized by S. Butenko & C. Floudas.

Welcome to WCGO 2015

The 2015 World Congress on Global Optimization (WCGO IV) will be held on Feb 22-25, 2015 in Gainesville, Florida, USA. This world congress will offer an excellent forum for researchers and practitioners in the field of global optimization from all over the world

A primary goal of the WCGO IV is to bring together scientists, engineers, mathematicians and patricians from a variety of related disciplines, to exchange ideas and present original research results in the theory and applications of global optimization. It is hoped that most countries will have a delegation to participate this event. The conference will be composed of featured symposia, plenary lectures, invited sessions, and contributed sessions.

The conference will be organized by the International Society of Global Optimization, the Center for Applied Optimization, and the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida.

Proceedings

Selected refereed papers will be published in special issues of Journal of Global Optimization, Journal of Combinatorial Optimization, Optimization Letters, etc.
